GRUPO ZARAGOZÁ OBTAINS ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORIZATION FOR THE CASSIA SOLE PLANT (30 MWp) IN ITALY

Continuing the internationalization of our portfolio of photovoltaic plants, GRUPO ZARAGOZÁ has obtained the PROVVEDIMENTO AUTORIZZATORIO UNICO REGIONALE (P.A.U.R.) for the CASSIA SOLE plant located in the Italian municipality of Troia (Foggia). This new plant will have a peak capacity of 30 MWp and will consist of over 42,000 modules spread across an area of 65.80 hectares. Furthermore, this plant is designed as an agrivoltaic site, with the dual purpose of utilizing the land for both solar energy generation and agricultural production.

The construction and development of our PV plants aim to collaborate with municipalities to achieve the goals and milestones of a sustainable environmental energy policy. It is estimated that the CASSIA SOLE PV plant will prevent the emission of 23,418 tons of CO₂ annually.

Construction of the PV CASSIA SOLE is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with its Commercial Operation Date (COD) estimated for early 2026. It is expected to create approximately 50 jobs in addition to the regular teams from Grupo Zaragozá for the Construction (EPC) and Maintenance (O&M) areas.

The CASSIA SOLE agrivoltaic project will donate its forage production free of charge to a local social cooperative that feeds the native sheep breed “Gentile di Puglia,” which is currently undergoing recovery efforts. In this way, the project will support local employment, increase biodiversity, and contribute to the recovery of the region’s genetic heritage.
